Less than half an hour from the Hotel Rural Olatzea is the Cave of Mendukilo, a karst cavity from which you can explore the depths of the Sierra de Aralar. The cave was used as a stable and refuge for shepherds, who took advantage of its good conditions and natural lighting.

Nowadays, the cave is open to visit and inside you can see stalactites, stalagmites, gours and other geological formations in its spaces like the lakes or the dragon’s abode.
